WITH OR WITHOUT A MAN
I was browsing a book this weekend. The title is, With or Without a Man, Single Women Taking Control of Their Lives by Karen Gail, PhD. It was about being a single woman -- and it had some slightly new insights. For example, it talked about taking a period of time-one to one and a half months-- where you are focusing solely on being autonomous. At that time, you let your sexuality go under-ground. You accept that it's there -- but you focus on distracting it by putting your energy into other things - or you ignore it entirely.
Then, you take two weeks to ACCEPT and CELEBRATE your sexuality. You might do that with a man, or not. You take that time to look though -- to go to -- social functions, and generally just pay attention.
And, you also take that time to buy new clothes, take bubble baths -- and do other things that help you to feel ALIVE sexually. When the two weeks is over -- you return to the autonomy.
Sherryl says, "I like this idea -- although I think it's best to let the cycles pick themselves. It would be hard to force something into two weeks. For me, my autonomy cycles seem to last for at least a year!"
