THE LUNCH

I didn’t quite finish the French lamb
stew with peas,
It’s important for housewives
To finish the stew for lunch--
To eat the leftovers.
We can’t throw them away,
Serve them again for dinner,
Or let them turn to blue fuzz
in the 'fridge.
It’s a rule

Number 457.

Our important day is
Trash pick- up -day.
Then we can start fresh
With empty bins and garbage sacks,
Which brings us to rule Number 211:
"The housewife must never throw the first Kleenex into the clean wastebasket."
