SPRING CLEANING

Day 1: the garden.
Young friends clear the stuff away,
Many bags to the dumpster that day.

Day 2: my living room.
With all the strength I can muster,
Vacuum cleaner and duster.
Push and shove chairs and tables
Get all the dirt up that I am able.
Move stuff from one side to the other,
Clean down and around
what they did cover.
Stoop, bend, crouch and twist
I surrender in the midst,
And seek my couch where I shall lie,
'Til Shakespeare's cowslips
have passed on by.
I will rise and get on with it
But first I'll have to rest a bit.

Phyllis comments, "How true, how true. Glory to God that I can still do spring cleaning. It is so good for my soul."
