TREASURES
I was visiting a dear friend
today
And together we opened a
memory
we forgot we had.
We savored each treasure,
wrapped in a hazy glow of
time past.
We unwrapped each with
care
Not to break the fragile
threads: who, what, when
and where.
Funny little events
that seemed so important
then,
Brought a smile to our
faces,
And to our hearts.
Memories are treasures
we put out of sight,
And bring to mind with those
we hold dear--
Then put them away
for some other year.
